Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Been here many times over the last 3-4 years. The service and food has diminished over time. Our final straw was when we received a complimentary metal screw in a steak fajita. Yes you read that correctly. Well, that was almost the final straw. When they told us that the meal would be at no charge, and it was on the bill, then they argued that it was taken off already... That was proof positive that we will not be back.

We were not impressed.. The meat was greasy & tough, the rest of our food lacked much flavor. If you're looking for good Mexican food keep looking. Service was mediocre and the table was dirty.

The Canandaigua area sure loves it's Mexican-style restaurants and this one doesn't disappoint. The chips and salsa are refreshing and definitely taste homemade. I usually order the fajita quesadilla which is really just a quesadilla with steak strips and cheese. While the food here is not quite as fresh tasting as Rio, it's less expensive and arguably more filling. Definitely a favorite by the locals!

El Jimador seems to have a two-tier menu, one cheap and filling to please the local racetrack goers and another more serious "home country" style. My favorites are the amazing sopa de pollo, with fresh lime and avocado, and the flawless molcajete which comes in a sizzling stone mortar. Although I have found Rio's a bit precious and pricey, I love to return to this down-to-earth spot. The specials are often fantastic. I once had a whole tilapia slow-cooked in onions and tomatoes that blew my mind.

The place was good! the wife liked it and so did I. It is a little far for us but worth the trip. Only problem I found was that they charge you for sides. Read the menu (which is quite big) before you order or they will charge you extra for sides.

Ordinary chips and salsa but extraordinary vegetarian fajitas : )

Incredible food..... no complaints here!!! There is a reason why they are busy!! Well worth the wait... good food is not fast food.

HUGE HUGE HUGE MENU!!!! Seemed to be a steady flow of customers the entire time we dinned. Dinner came out super fast! Service was on point for having only 2 people in the front. The food is nothing unique. Basic mexican food. Chips and salsa were done perfect. Not loaded with salt or greasy. I would come back for a quick meal or with friends.

Great food. Guacamole appetizer was awesome. Took a little while to get seated (no reservations but you can call ahead). Food delivered piping hot very quickly after ordering. Highly recommended!

Leaving after waiting at the front door for ten min with no one greeting or acknowledging us. Horrible.

One of our faves for consistent and delicious Mexican food, we continually go back for their Chili Verde - tender morsels of pork pretty much melted into a rich and delicious green tomatillo soup. Perfect every time! Served with rice, beans and tortillas, it's very filling and very satisfying. Their frozen margaritas are also generous and their chips and salsa usually require two baskets and two bowls of salsa! Recently we tried their Carne Azada too - marinated steak served with sauteed/carmelized onions, lime, lettuce, tomato and fresh avocado. It was very tasty and very filling. Service is fast, place is big and if you have to wait (as we did on a recent Sat night), it's not for long. Highly recommended!

Dinner tonight. Great meal, great price, and friendly service while wait staff ran their butts off.

Decent Mexican restaurant with good tasting food. Only complaint is the margaritas. I ordered one thinking it would be fresh made and it was clearly limarita from a can.

We came at 7pm on a Saturday. We waited 40 minutes after being told it wasn't a long wait. The food was delicious, but not exactly warm. I'd recommend this place in a quieter time of day or week. The beans and corn tortillas are fabulous.

Great food as great service! We are regulars there and love it. The only change that we would like to see is more attention to the bar while guests are waiting. To have an actual bartender tending the bar on the busier nights would be great!

I love El Jimador. The salsa is the best anywhere and the house specialties are killer. Try the El Molcajete, you won't be sorry. The Sopa de Pollo appetizer is also excellent. Definitely would recommend the house and chef specials over the numbered combo meals, those are pretty average.

We ate here when it opened, years ago. We were thoroughly revolted and decided never to return. Well, as we're about to move out of the area, we thought we'd give it one more (parting) shot. Everyone around here seems to love it. The food is mostly gross, but some of it it kindof OK and it's all very filling. As I write this, I feel like there's a cinderblock impacted in my colon. The waitress recommended the chimichangas, so I got those. Very bad for you, I know, but most things that are terrible for you are also delicious. The tortillas were deep-fried, but then buried under the "cheese sauce" so they became soggy. So, I got the health detriment of deep-frying without any of the deliciousness. And the "cheese sauce," what the hell is that crap. It's not melted cheese, I think they might be attempting something like a Mexican crema. Tastes more like mayonnaise, only hot. The chicken filling if revolting, tossed in some orange stuff (maybe those ortega packets) and could not be saltier. With hot mayo on top. My wife's fajitas were better. Nothing great, but hunks of chicken and beef served hot and extremely salty with a few peppers and onions and warm tortillas. It was definitely edible. My son got the enchiladas. Gross. The sauce had an odd flavor, definitely not resembling any chile I've ever had. The ground beef inside was also gross. I'd bet money that this sauce came right out of a can, onto the plate and then into the microwave. The beans and rice were good enough. They also give you a side salad topped with some surprisingly good guacamole. If I'm ever back here, I'm making sure I get some guacamole on whatever I order. The service is excellent, extremely attentive. It was so good, I might have given this place a three. However, the chimichangas were so nasty, and a Mexican restaurant really should be making enchilada sauce in-house.

The food is decent. Salsa is usually good. The main reason I eat Mexican food is for the margaritas, specifically frozen margaritas. The frozen margarita machine has been broken since October and I don't think there are any plans to fix it. Making the margaritas in their blender basically tastes like flavored ice. If the decide not to fix it I guess we will have to start going back to Monte Alban. Too bad since El Jimador is closer.

Coming from living in Phoenix, I am very critical of restaurants who claim to have authentic Mexican food. With that being said, the food was very good. There was fresh and warm home made tortilla chips upon arrival with a tasty salsa. I wouldn't say the food was the most authentic I've had, but it was very good. The menu was huge, which made it a little hard to decide, but it was nice to have options. The restaurant was packed (we went on cinco de mayo), but our server was amazing and very attentive. The prices are reasonable and the portions are grande. I heard that they make a mean margarita, but I am not the drinking type. The decor was interesting. There was a lot to look at and it kept us busy in conversation until our food came. Overall, it was a really good experience and we will go again.

Pretty good Mexican food but it doesn't really compare the the REAL thing.

My off day's of veganism are really catching on..... I feel like a vampire feasting once a week on prey.....with that being said, I couldn't pick a better place to feast. The mexican food here is complete money. I have one complaint though, and the reason for a 3 star rating. i believe the pitchered margaritas could send a non-diabetic into a insulin shock. I seriously have never tasted a drink so sweet. It was like drinking liquid margarita flavored fun dip....one glass and I morphed into Wilford Brimley. I came here on recommendations of my good buddy, and I am not disappointed in the least. Just view your drinks as a dessert and it is even more enjoyable.

Food was mediocre. My steak came and tasted very off. Requested a new meal and the waiter argued with me but reluctantly brought another meal which came out well after everyone else was finished eating. Not bad enough but the first meal was not removed from the bill. When I inquired about it tje owner stormed over. She was belligerent, rude and nasty. She finally took the $15 off my bill after telling me the meat was perfectly fine and fresh. My whole table agreed with me that it was bad. She yelled at me and threw my change at me. I've never had a worse experience anywhere! Perhaps they like tainted meat but I do not. There was absolutely no excuse for the owners behavior. Dont waste your time or hard earned money here! Only giving one star because some in my party enjoyed their meals.
